This gentleman talked about his imperfect life. None of us do…. he was honest with out blaming others for his difficulties in life.He accepted responsibility for his actions. I would like to hear the end of his story, such as did he ever marry have children and what is his life like now. I wish the very best for him.

I appreciated this man’s honest account of his life journey including thoughts on faith. He does not tow the traditional church line.

It was interesting as a book whose author was black and grew up in poverty. He went awol from the marines and spent years running before returning to clean things up. In part, it was a commercial for a particular form of meditation that changed his life. The reader gets an in-depth look at life in a “Jesus house.” He finally quit running from life.

This is well written. I was not anticipating an autobiography, but it held my interest. There was a bit more “religion” in it than I really like, but it was truth so it is understandable. It has been a long time since I have read a book in first person.

I was in the Army during this time of the book. The author explained his family life and situation during those times.
I think that his bringing up was a contributor to his lack of learning and weight issues.
A good book for anyone that had grown up in the 50’s and 60′.
